This company has since purchased 40 units of the ULT freezer for a project they are undertaking. This company aims to get rid of Man-made fluorinated gas by the end of 2015. 90% of these have been removed with HFCs/PFCs remaining. The range of technical applications with cooling technology used in this company is very broad and high rack warehouse, cooling room , freezers and so on. This time our freezer matched what they were seeking for.

”The critical success factors that led to the clinching of this customer’s order include our stringent production standards, which easily cleared the safety requirements of the local regulatory authorities, and our defining eco-friendly product characteristics, which matched the customer’s direction for corporate social responsibility. ” Sales Team, Singapore.

Over the years, regulations have been introduced to manage the deleterious effects of the different types of refrigerants on the environment. The Montreal Protocol is an international treaty implemented in 1989. In 1992, the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCC) was introduced. The Kyoto Protocol followed it in 1997, and is an extension of the UNFCC. Man-made fluorinated gas ( F-gas ) Regulations are European based legislation aimed at combatting the potential global warming effects of F-gases.

Several European electro-mechanical safety standards have thus been implemented for products containing flammable refrigerants.

With the trend shifting towards naturally occurring hydrocarbon (HC) refrigerants, as well as to align themselves with the legislative changes, many companies in Europe are now turning to HC refrigerants.
