Cytokines and Growth Factors

Growth factors and cytokines represent two classes of cell-signaling protein molecules that can confer positive and negative (inhibitory) effects on cell growth and proliferation. Distinct changes in growth factor and cytokine levels have been linked to various disease states and conditions, thus modern research has focused on understanding disease onset and progression by investigating these cell-signaling molecules on a cellular level.

With research in mind, Rockland provides an extensive panel of purified proteins and antibodies developed against these signaling molecules for use in the analyses by Western blot, ELISA, Immunohistochemistry, FLISA, and more. Our mission is to develop products that will provide consistent results. Enzymes

Rockland offers antibody and protein conjugates with a wide range of common enzymatic reporter molecules used in molecular immunology. Tt reporter molecules typically include enzymes such as horseradish peroxidase (HRP), alkaline phosphatase (ALP), glucose oxidase (GO), and beta-galactosidase (BGAL or ßgal).

For each reporter enzyme conjugate, Rockland offers a variety of substrates and enzymes for research that will generate either a soluble or insoluble colored product. Soluble substrates are useful to quantitate analytes in liquid phase assays like ELISA. Insoluble substrates are excellent to localize analytes in solid-phase assays like WB and immunohistochemistry (IHC).

Protein A and G

Protein A and protein G are bacterial immunoglobulin (IgG) binding proteins. While protein A originates from Staphylococcus aureus, protein G is of Streptococcal origin. Rockland offers protein A and protein G in unconjugated and conjugated forms for common immunoassays, including ELISA, Western blotting, and immunohistochemistry.

Sepharose protein A, protein G, and protein A/G are widely used for immunoprecipitation and IgG purification. While both protein A and protein G bind to immunoglobulins from various species, their affinity differs in dependence on immunoglobulin classes as well as species origins.
